Studying the Martial Arts

Many people think of karate as something they see on television or in the movies, with people punching and kicking their legs, never realizing that karate is an outstanding means to physical and mental fitness.
Everyone
-young or old, male or female, athletic or sedentary, fit or ailing, or even physically handicapped can benefit from studying karate. Among the many benefits of training, students often cite:

·
Improved health, reduced stress, weight control
·
 Better balance and coordination
·
 Increased flexibility and strength
·
 Greater self-confidence
·
 Improved self-defense
·
 Increased energy and stamina
·
 Satisfaction from meeting challenges
·
 Lots of fun

Karate-do strives internally to train the mind to develop clear conscience, enabling one to face the world honestly, while externally developing strength to the point where one may overcome even ferocious animals. Mind and technique become one in true karate.
